I like macro flower shots, and I like them more when the flowers are less than perfect. The little bits of dust and the 2 teeny tiny bugs on the left of this photo make it more “real” and not so much about the beauty of the flower as capturing reality at a specific moment [...]

Was messing around with the Canon 100mm macro on New Year’s Day. This photo was shot with a Canon 40D at f/9.0, 1/250 sec.

Taken while testing the 7D, this was taken with a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro.

This bug was taken in the Bug’s Land section of California Adventure. They had a beautiful garden area where this little guy was buzzing about.
