Photo taken sometime in between 2010 and 2011. Managed to get just the right angle after driving up and down the hills above downtown. I finally found this vantage point before the rainbow vanished. Part of me wishes the pole wasn't there, another part of me feels it adds some visual drama and helps with the setting.

Do You See What I See?
Taro Leaf
Hawaii was just hit with a band of strong thunderstorms and its been raining for the last day or so... The wind died down and the storm has passed, leaving this...
Spiderweb
This is an old photo from the spiderwebs at our condo in Foster City, CA on July 23, 2006. Our condo complex had a ton of spiders, they were everywhere so we had lots of dew drops on spiderweb photo opps! 70mm f/5 @ 1/60 ISO400 with my old Nikon D70.
Water. Life.
Our kalo (taro) in our aquaponics garden accumulates rain and dew so each morning the leaves have a drop of water at the tip. Here's one from this morning...
Dog Days of Winter
It's been wet and rainy here in Manoa but Jasmine doesn't seem to mind.
Ryan Ozawa (@Hawaii) Summons Rainbow using Secret iPhone App
Ryan was at Ala Moana Beach early one morning to record a video message for TWiT. I happened to be sand running and saw him so I launched my ninja app, snuck up, switched to Camera+ and snapped this cool juxtaposition.
Two Surfers at Daybreak
Two surfers at daybreak, about to head out from Ala Moana Beach Park.
Princess, the Princess
Here's a shot of our Jack Russell Terrier, Princess. She's about 2 years old now but still as energetic as the energizer bunny after 10 shots of espresso and a six-pack of Red Bull. I like this photo because of her playful nature, the classic timeless look, and the blades of grass. Something about the blades of grass, I dunno. I'm strange like that. Anyway, this was shot with a Canon 7D and my Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens set to f/4.9 at ISO160 and 1/160 seconds.
Pick your Poison
I've been enamored by poison arrow frogs for as long as I can remember... tiny, bright colors, poisonous, what more can you ask for? This little guy's photo was taken behind glass and glare so its not the greatest. California Academy of Sciences, Canon 7D with 18-135mm.
