LOL, okay, lame title but whatever – that’s why I’m an engineer and not a writer! he he he. This was shot at the Honolulu Zoo’s volunteer garden in March of 2007. I like the contrast of both colors and texture… sharp thorns and beautiful flowers. Interesting juxtaposition. Yes its another photo from the archives but [...]
Green is my favorite color and partly because it’s the color of nature. And its the color of my birthstone. And its pretty to look at, soothing. I dunno, call me weird, whatever. Green is it. This photo is one of the last photos taken with film, slide film even. Probably Velvia 50 and probably [...]
I like macro flower shots, and I like them more when the flowers are less than perfect. The little bits of dust and the 2 teeny tiny bugs on the left of this photo make it more “real” and not so much about the beauty of the flower as capturing reality at a specific moment [...]
Here’s a shot of our Jack Russell Terrier, Princess. She’s about 2 years old now but still as energetic as the energizer bunny after 10 shots of espresso and a six-pack of Red Bull. I like this photo because of her playful nature, the classic timeless look, and the blades of grass. Something about the [...]
Or blue water drops, or water drops tinted blue in post processing on the iPhone… whatever, you get it. This is an older shot from an iPhone 3GS and editing on the iPhone using Camera Bag.
I’ve taken a few shots of this cat while walking the dogs because the clutter of the garage with the cat sitting in the middle on a chair always made for an interesting subject. This time I had the 7D but only brought one lens, my 100mm f2.8 macro which sucks because I wish I [...]
Was messing around with the Canon 100mm macro on New Year’s Day. This photo was shot with a Canon 40D at f/9.0, 1/250 sec.
Taken while testing the 7D, this was taken with a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro.
I’ve been enamored by poison arrow frogs for as long as I can remember… tiny, bright colors, poisonous, what more can you ask for? This little guy’s photo was taken behind glass and glare so its not the greatest. California Academy of Sciences, Canon 7D with 18-135mm.
This bug was taken in the Bug’s Land section of California Adventure. They had a beautiful garden area where this little guy was buzzing about.
