Forest within the Forest
I love the tiny sun dappled areas in the rain forest where life takes hold over something that’s died and starts anew. I always wonder what little insects and bugs make their home here, in the nice green meadow of moss…
Orange Abstract Thingamajiggy
Can you guess what this object is? Comment below, we’ll see if anyone can figure this one out.
This was photographed through a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 held in front of the camera (reversed) with the aperture wide open.
Swiss Army
Shot via a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 reversed (hand held in front of camera but backwards). The colors and blur are as shot, slightly saturated and the vignette was in post (some of it). You can see a huge dust smudge on the hour hand in the lower left, ick!
Sponge Bob
Here’s an over-saturated photo of my daughter’s Sponge Bob night light. The contrasting yellow and reds are nice and the crystal like structure of the lamp itself has a nice texture. Sometimes an ordinary object can yield an interesting photo … to me these are my “happy accidents”!
Dirt and a Tomato
Very simple image but I like this one because of the 2 contrasting textures and the nice depth of field. The tomato is smooth and vibrant. The dirt is muddy, cracked, and, well, dirty. I like that. Also the theme of food coming from the earth, etc.
Anyway, this is an older photo from 2007 but I thought I’d share.
Red Flower Closeup
A photo of a flower taken at the Lyon Arboretum this past weekend. I have a few shots of this flower and I dunno what it is yet …
The larger version is much better. Click here for the larger version.
